Audits rarely fail because the work was not done. They fail because nobody can prove it quickly enough.

What people actually ask for

  • Proof of competence for the person who carried out the work.

  • Calibration or service records for the equipment used.

  • The method statement or risk assessment in force on the day.

  • A signature from someone authorised to accept it.

Notice that all four are tied to a moment in time. A current certificate does not prove competence eighteen months ago. This is why folder-based evidence fails: folders hold the latest version, not the version that applied.

Capture at the point of work

Evidence gathered later is evidence reconstructed. The practical fix is to capture it where the work happens, on a phone, in under a minute, against the job rather than into a general library. If capture takes longer than that, teams will batch it, and batching is where gaps appear.

Make the trail readable by someone else

The real test is not whether you can find a document. It is whether a stranger can follow the trail without you in the room. technical+ holds certification, calibration and competency against the job, the asset and the person, with versions preserved. When the question comes, the answer is already assembled.

Book a demo and bring a real audit request. We will walk it through end to end.
