1. Who we are

sme+ is a UK business operating the sme+ platform. This notice explains what we do with personal data when you visit our website, speak to our team, or use the platform as part of your work.

2. Data we collect

When you contact us or book a demo we collect your name, work email, phone number if you give it, your organisation and anything you tell us about what you are trying to solve. When you use the platform we process the account details your employer provides and records of activity such as sign-in events and changes made to data.

Our website collects basic analytics — pages viewed, referring source, approximate location from IP address and device type. We use first-party analytics and keep it to what we need to understand whether our content is useful.

3. Why we process it

To respond to enquiries and arrange demos; to deliver and support the platform under our contract with your employer; to keep the service secure and investigate misuse; to meet legal and accounting obligations; and, where you have asked for it, to send occasional updates about the platform.

4. Lawful basis

We rely on legitimate interests for business-to-business contact and for keeping the platform secure, contractual necessity for delivering the service, consent for marketing email, and legal obligation where the law requires us to keep records.

5. Where your data lives

Platform data is hosted in the United Kingdom. Where a supplier processes data outside the UK, we put approved transfer safeguards in place and record them in our processor register, which we will share on request.

6. How long we keep it

Enquiry records are kept for 24 months from the last contact. Platform data is kept for the life of your organisation’s agreement and then deleted or returned in line with the terms of service. Financial records are kept for the period required by UK law.

7. Sharing

We use a small number of vetted suppliers for hosting, email, analytics and support tooling. Each is bound by a data processing agreement. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.

8. Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, or ask us to restrict it. Where your employer controls the data inside the platform, we will pass your request to them and help them answer it.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep the site working and a small set of analytics cookies. You can clear or block them in your browser; the site will still work.

10. Contact and complaints

Write to privacy@smeplus.co.uk and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
