About the role

We are hiring a senior backend engineer to own the services behind the shared record every sme+ product reads from. It is a hands-on role with real production responsibility from week one.

What you will do

  • Design and build services in TypeScript and Postgres.

  • Model records, permissions and audit events that hold under real load.

  • Work directly with implementation consultants on live customer problems.

  • Keep performance predictable as customer data grows.

What we are looking for

  • Several years building production backend systems.

  • Comfort with data modelling and migrations on live systems.

  • Clear written reasoning — we document decisions.

  • Interest in operational software, not just the stack.
